"They're coming."
[For convenience’s sake, !Sora is for when he’s not ‘himself’. Italics is !his voice when speaking inside of ‘normal’ Sora’s head… lmao this sounds so dumb. Warning, I guess? This is some real Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde shit; it might get confusing!]

“NAMINÉ!Open up, already…

Ah, what a terrifying liar he was when put into the worst of situations. While the keyblader had a hard time keeping Christmas gifts a secret, the dark anomaly feigned fear so well that it challenged the real thing. Pounding against the door with inhuman strength, bloody fists nearly left the wooden door in shambles. There was no doubt about it— with all of the slivers coming apart, Sora was sure to wake up with several splinters underneath bruised nails. What a mess we’ve made, a crooked thought was directed to the body’s rightful owner as the boy’s feet kept their place. A final attempt to regain control? More than likely. He’d always been a fighter - of course he’d retaliate in the most inconvenient scenario.

I’m trying to save you, idiot. You think they’re gonna forgive all of this and talk about it over some potions? Quit fighting; this is my show now.

It was a quick test of potential and strength— free will hadn’t the slightest say on the matter. A quick jerk of his head, and the remnants of a white door made the inside of his head spin wildly. Throbbing violently, his forehead drove into the planks several more times before it flew open, a panicking girl behind its now-emptied frame.

Would ya look at that? Pretty sure she knows me better than you ever did… and still, she’s opening the door. Didn’t want you to feel all that hurt, next time you woke up… Scared and alone.

A reflection from !Sora on the inside of ‘their’ mind ignited something deep - though, it wasn’t anything light. No, the young male’s heart wasn’t strong enough to fight this… it wasn’t something he’d ever been fond of, but it seemed that fighting fire with fire was the only way. If something didn’t change soon, there was a chance that !he might hurt the tiny blonde - the image of that left his resolve amplifying tenfold… if not five times that. Overall, it was a mess of confusion. And an overwhelming one, at that. With a taunting voice in his head, there was no way for the key blade wielder to regain control with the powers of ‘good’. By then, they sounded like a mockery. Unfortunately, his head was in an astounding amount of pain and arguing was increasingly difficult by the moment. What could he expect? Those kinds of things usually happened when your darkness manifested and couldn’t feel the pain that it inflicted on your body.

!He could do whatever !he wanted, really. Take a dagger to his middle, wood to his head…. it was all the same. !He wouldn’t feel it - only Sora would. How that worked out (much less why), Sora didn’t understand, but there was a lot more of that which came in different packages. Apparently one of them was required to involve a severe amount of pain if he even considered fighting for dominance. Take it from him, don’t let evil build a tight knot in your stomach. Too many of them will leave your mouth in vile forms of a pretense or a senseless insult. Whichever fate !he decided was the consequence an unlucky brunet would later suffer.

The keyblader might’ve never thought that waging a war for his own mind would be one of the hardest fights yet, but the point was more than thoroughly proven. But of course; !he’d wanted it that way. !He wanted to express a proper punishment for all the ‘unnecessary immunity’. !He wanted to show just how much !he could steal while in control. !He wanted to ruin everything— but most of all, !he wanted Sora to watch the entire thing. His eyelids were windows to the apocalypse, body a slave to a phantom that claimed his name. For whatever reason, !he wanted to convey just how right !he was about the wielder’s companions— how useless they all were… how easily they’d give up on him once everything fell apart—

Sora just wished that it didn’t look like that statement would come true within the next few moments.

Trying to act like !he wasn’t getting closer to winning every step of the way was just a lie that the boy told himself from the inside. The horrors were no longer imaginary; instead, he watched his own hand moving toward Naminé’s cheek, thumb brushing over the soft flesh. Trying to pull it back only caused a threatening twitch of knuckles that felt all too foreign. It was luck that had them pointing in the direction away from her face, as contact surely would’ve broke her. Or at least, that’s what he imagined. She’d always looked so fragile… but from where he was watching, it seemed a lot more like she was the one in possession of strength. A quivering lower lip or not, there was a semblance of selflessness written all over her, eyes brimming with courage.

“What’s gonna happen… to me, Naminé?” The words— !his words felt foreign, as Sora wasn’t the one saying them. The rouse broke when she tensed all too knowingly; there was no mistaking just how perceptive she was. Perhaps it had been all that time with Organization Thirteen - whatever it may have been, Sora was grateful. He just wished she could’ve gone running, already. Having to face !him wasn’t going to be easy, and summoning the bravery to do that wasn’t even in his arsenal. Evidently, the pale girl had a bit more going for her.

!He broke into manic glee. “You already know!” Just look at her, of course she knows! She’s known all along what’s wrong with you. Knows that you’re not strong enough to hold me back anymore, and she  still let you in. No… Let me in! She let me in! “And here you are, standing your ground… What’s a doll to do?” The tock was clicking, and the rest of them were sure to locate the smaller two in no time. Riku, Kairi, Donald, Goofy— Leon and the gang… it was infuriating to the dark energy, but the lunatic smile didn’t fade just yet. Darkness itself looked her in the eye, but the blonde’s gaze didn’t falter.

“Impressive - that you’re doing all’a this for a boy you don’t even belong with.” The hand fell from her cheek to his side, head at an incline as golden eyes gauged her reaction. “I’ll give you two— us two, a moment alone. All this lovesick drama is gonna make me hurl.”

But there it was, the out. Seconds of weakness was enough for Sora to find his head again, yellow fading to gray, gray to blue, all still dazed and confused. Lifting stained hands to touch his face and make sure it was him that felt it all, Sora held his breath. Only when the confirmation settled in did he pull her in for an embrace, feeling her entire frame relax, one quiver and a half in his hold.

"I’m so sorry— I don’t even know what to say.”

“They’re coming."

And of course, the threat that !he’d mentioned so many times couldn’t give the wielder a break, either. It wouldn’t be long before they arrived and ruined everything… the brief moment of intimacy and trust that helped him comprehend just how much she’d done for him. Then again, maybe that was the kind of thinking that had haunted him in the first place. Still, it didn’t matter if he had hope in the people he once counted on. She was right. They were coming, and he needed to leave - fast.

"Pretty sure this is the thousandth time I’ve thanked you. Nothing’s ever gonna come close to enough, is it? I wish… I could take you with me.” He would’ve, if the darkness ceased to pulsate in his core. Regrettably, that just wasn’t the case, but the taller male sealed the deal with a chaste kiss to her forehead.

Evil may have been insane, but not nearly as insane as those that truly thought Nobodies didn’t have hearts.
