As her “Somebody” Naminé has always felt an unavoidable draw to Kairi, and has always felt… mostly nothing towards her, at the beginning. Both because she did not know of her existence and because she didn’t know how to feel. Despite what people may think, she absolutely does not resent the redheaded girl, but rather respects her because she knows that she had gone through a lot, even though she was born without memories of her “former” life.
After Castle Oblivion, as she stayed in Twilight Town trying to piece the memories of Sora back together, she even began to become somewhat fond of her other half. Her spunk and her attitude were something that Naminé found to be refreshing in her blank white room as she put the pieces together and found out more about the girl who was, technically, supposed to be her light half.
Post-rejoining with her, Naminé is content with the knowledge that Kairi is someone who is by all means and accounts important to her, and one of the only things that she regrets is not truly getting to know her.
