With arms crossed over a nimble frame and a frown upon her lips, the princess was intently examining the wall before her and the three paintings left to sit on the lower wall. It was obvious that one of them was to adorn this particular part of the castle… but which one?

A jump would be given Odette heard a voice, turning her head to spot the smaller girl behind her. What a curious little soul – she looked so out of place among the lavish walls and grandeur of the palace. Rather a lot like this woman at the best of times. “Oh, if you’d like too you are more than welcome. I need an artist’s eye.”

Stepping forward, she picked up one of the three paintings and held it up – admiring the painting of the lake. “I think this is too simple. It blends into the wall.” Placing it down, she pointed to the one aside of it. “That one has too much going on and the last simply… looks out of place. Yet I have to place one there.”

Appearing directly into a lavish palace probably wasn’t the best idea in the universe, though it wasn’t like she had much else to choose from. As much as she definitely wanted to reappear elsewhere she had nowhere to go and would have to continue onwards if she wanted a place out. Hopefully no one would catch her, because she simply did not fit in with the surroundings… really she just looked out of place.

But when happening upon the young woman staring at three paintings with a measure of distress she couldn’t quite deny the desire to help in some way. The question had slipped out without her fully realizing it, already in the air, though the woman seemed to take it in stride after staring at her for a moment before presenting the situation. While Naminé didn’t really consider herself to have an artist’s eye by any means, as much as she loved art as a passion, all the same she looked at the paintings critically.

”I think the lake fits best,” was what she finally decided on—partially because it did seem like the woman liked it the most, but for other reasons as well. ”Simplicity isn’t a bad thing, and the others would stand out too much and take away from the beauty of this palace in general.” If anything she imagined that the simplest painting would make its surroundings more noticeable as the eye would immediately go to them, rather than to a busy or out of place painting.
