As they strolled along, he turned, pace slowed into a sidestep as he gazed back. She seemed to always have questions for him about the Peristylium in one form or another, though he could not blame her. It was a building of several different departments, a stronghold of government proxy. However, it seemed this time her questions were more personal, relating to his own experience.
“… A few weeks. Rooms I visited regularly were a few days, though. When you live in a place, you adapt quicker.“ Ace simply explained with a casual tone. Once he turned to face forward again, he kept his pace slow for the girl right behind him. He was in no rush, neither was she, but he was also known to be a creature of habit, hurrying along to each new destination.
Still, as his shoes sank into red velvet carpet, laid atop black marble tile, he simply wondered what it must have been like in Twilight Town at that time. It was probably the same as it was the last time he’d been there, actually: quaint. He crossed into another hall, though, pushing the thought away. “This way. Not much farther.”
It was the farthest wing, hidden behind the building, but it was never terribly far away.

A few weeks. It made sense that if a person lived in a place it made it easier to remember the way around the general area. After all, even though she had rarely went outside, still she remembered exactly what walkways and alleyways to take to find just about anywhere in Twilight Town. It was, in the end, the world that she resided in the most, and the world that she would always return to.
Hearing that they weren’t too far away she nodded in affirmation that she had heard his statement, treading lightly over the floors as she ended up walking besides him instead of just behind. Rarely did she see other students walking these halls, though she definitely knew that they existed—she did not see them, because they could not see her, but she had heard them before, just hadn’t given them much thought.
And anyways, Ace was really the only reason that she came to that world. Nothing else called her there, drew her close and made her continuously go back for reasons that she did not know, but instead just him. That made sense anyways, considering that he was one of the very few people whom she considered to be a friend.
”—How have you been lately, Ace?” Certainly a question that was rather random considering that they had not been on the topic, but she had to ask.
