fantasias-embrace:

"'Nice' never really categorized itself with me."

With a quick grip, the birdcage vanished and withered. It left its remains to whither and vanish before it could reach Namine’s skin. Was there symbolism in this? Certainly so. It meant imprisonment, the disperse of the cage would mean freedom, yet the cage and it’s memories would follow.

”A bird running from its owner isn’t nice either, how about I scold you? Want that, blue bird?” The dark offer hung in the air for several seconds and quickly dispatched by another.

"Why? Why here of all places?"

”I don’t—“ she cut herself off, pressing her lips together tightly, blood draining from them momentarily. Have an owner was how she meant to finish that sentence, but could not bring herself to—she didn’t, at least she was fairly certain that she didn’t, but there was no use in arguing.

Instead she stayed silent and stared at him as the offer hung heavily in the air, along with the quiet. The pause in noise did not last long though, as he spoke again, throw another question her way—one that she understood, of course, but one that she wasn’t sure if she could answer easily.

                                                      What was she doing there——?

”Because—“ voice soft and wavering, she paused again. For a moment Naminé wanted to tear her gaze away from him, to glance around at their immediate surroundings, but she found that she could not bear to. ”I’m not sure.”

                                    ”It… calls to me.”
