"Red String of Fate"
Our muses are destined to meet during a fireworks display.

All around the festival was loud and happy, children were running from place to place, some with sparklers in hand, and parents running after them to ensure that they did not fall and hurt themselves. Some were wearing traditional clothing and others not, and as she shuffled around in her white sundress she gazed around and tried to figure out how she had gotten separated from the people whom she had come with.

One moment she had been by there side and the next she wasn’t and she sighed to herself as she sidestepped a child running much too fast, waving their sparkler in the air dangerously. Too preoccupied with looking for a familiar flash of red hair she did not bother to warn the child to be more careful, especially since the father was doing the same thing, running after him and shouting for him to be careful.

Night had fallen and sparkling lights were what lit up the festival area and she held her small bag close to herself, walking through the crowds of people. There were not as many as before, as most people had migrated out to the grassy areas to gather together because the fireworks show was bound to start within several minutes, and the blonde sighed and started that way, figuring that perhaps her friends were that way. It was more likely than loitering around the festival area around all of the stalls.

Feet treading from pavement to the grass she only stumbled slightly and continued, eyes roaming the crowds as she stayed more towards the edge of the supposed space, unwilling to wander between more groups of people. Still they did not stand out to her, though they really were not the types to blend into a crowd, and she sighed to herself, reaching for her back to call someone—

                                    When she was bumped into.

Swaying and stumbling dangerously a hand shot out and grabbed her.

Hovering somewhere between standing and falling she took a breath before looking at the person who had simultaneously ran into her and stopped her from falling onto her face, blinking a few times at the young woman who was apologizing. ”It’s alright, it was just an accident,” was how she responded to her apologies and she threw in a smile just in case, trying to be pleasant enough to the person.

                           ”—Have you seen a rabbit?”

That was not exactly a question she expected to be asked and she laughed a little bit purely out of surprise before shaking her head and saying no, she had not seen a rabbit anywhere, other than the ones that could have been won in a little game. The young woman with her long blonde hair sighed and looked around, apparently distressed, and she couldn’t help but offer her own aid in finding the rabbit that she had apparently lost.

So they looked together, combing through the general area for the rabbit, unsuccessful even as the fireworks were lit and began to soar high into the sky, exploding with sound and light, and they both stopped at the noises and looked up at the sky. They were further than most people were, only a few others scattered around the general area, and while she had not expected to be watching the fireworks with a stranger it was… nice. A new experience, as was looking for a rabbit, and she couldn’t deny that she had actually had some fun in the process.

There was only one other thing that she had to do—

                                                      ”I’m Naminé.”

                                                                        ”Alice.”
