"Don’t look at me like that."
Send me a sentence for my muse's reaction.

When it came down to it, it really wasn’t one of those situations where she didn’t know how they ended up there, because she clearly remembered it. And remembered it well, because as weird as the situation was it was not one that was inexplicable, because there was nothing necessarily out of the ordinary about what happened. It was just… humorous, in hindsight.

Together they had been wandering, mostly just keeping each other company and doing little else because it had been one of those days, one of those quiet days wherein they didn’t quite feel like being alone, but having legitimate company was not desired either. So they were walking together, in a word that neither of them knew particularly well because, to be frank, walking around the same two worlds together, even if they only saw each other sporadically, could become rather dull after a certain point.

So they walked together and only held casual conversation every now and then but otherwise she stared up at the sky and at the land around them just as he did and it was fine that way. Everything was perfectly fine and the world they were in was quiet and seemed to be peaceful enough, nothing particularly dangerous or otherwise jumping out of them immediately. Their respective guards were slightly let down, though not wholly since neither of them could ever quite do that—

And in the end their caution paid off as something rather large and menacing looking flew down from the sky from mountains that were in the far off distance and rather quickly they ran for cover, because there was no telling what was headed straight towards them. In the end it would have been safer either way to jump into the forest that they had been walking along the edges of, though as could only be expected her bag got caught on a branch of a bush and halted her movement and would not budge, no matter how hard she pulled at it.

With Ace’s help she managed to untangle herself and they both stumbled further into the woods and tripped practically simultaneously, crashing to the ground as a large screech sounded overhead and immediately he dove to protect her from anything that could possibly rain down upon them.

Tense moments passed in silence between the two of them as shrieks echoed throughout the air and the sound of wings grew closer and then further away, and rounded back at least twice. But finally, finally, it sounded as if the predator had finally gone away and they could relax again and she sat up slowly, staying on her knees and sitting back on her heels, trying to steady her breathing before looking at Ace—and having to bite her lip and repress laughter of pure amusement, because it really wasn’t all that funny.

”Don’t look at me like that.”

Letting out a small peal of laughter she realized that he probably wasn’t aware of what she was laughing at, though there wasn’t much to laugh at. It was mostly a combination of adrenaline that lightheadedness that made her feel this way, probably, but she had never seen Ace in such disarray—hair everywhere, leaves and a few twigs in it, a smear of mud on his face and… oh, her bag had hit him just slightly, hadn’t it?

Really she imagined she was in a similar state.

And that was what actually made her laugh.

”S-Sorry,” was what she managed to say after she tried to repress her laughter, covering her mouth with her hand, amusement dancing in her eyes. ”We should probably get cleaned up,” Naminé added a moment later, reaching out and plucking a twig from Ace’s hair and tossing it over her shoulder, smile warm and good natured.

Sometimes laughter was needed, she supposed.
