Upon conclusion to introductions, the warrior was left with nothing but sheer inquisitiveness. Hopes that consisted of recognition had been slightly deterred. With name finally revealed, Yuri was still at a loss — still lacking any remembrance of the acquired name. “…Naminé?” As if tasting the name for himself would help illuminate his curiosity. Unfortunately, it was a fruitless endeavor.
Unanticipated response is what truly engendered bemusement; cranium slowly inched away while brows inelegantly furrowed. Assumptions triggered further curiosity. Perhaps she was unaware of the guild he joined, and his purpose in said guild? Or perhaps she was not aware that he and his comrades were the very saviors of this planet — oh no wait, no one knew of their achievements. She was not at fault for innocent ignorance, though — nor did he intend to imply any of his past toils.
“It’s alright if you don’t feel like talking about it. Not planning on pestering you until you tell me…” Directed towards her origins, of course. A smile is then painted neatly upon the typically austere man’s features. Prying into one’s business, even with such cryptic information and even with impulsive personality, was not a particular trait possessed by the vigilante; his desire to learn more would be suppressed.
Nonetheless, matter pertaining to the main topic of the entire discourse, had been dropped. Instead, presented inquire loosened tightened brows and eased tensions. Unwavering smile remained stretched until further notice.
“Well, it’s pretty big. I would say it’s the biggest city on this continent.” Not necessarily an exaggeration; Halure was rather large — although, take away the blossom-producing tree, and it would seem a lot smaller. The Imperial city, Zaphias, was known for it’s different sections and it’s large size — well, it was the headquarters for all the knights; not to mention, the Empire had chose this very city to call label it their abode.
“You looking to get to a specific part? I could show you the way … ?” That was the least he could do after attempting to pry into her business.
Most likely her name was unusual to him, she imagined, just as his was to her. In the end that was only to be expected, being from different worlds, and she took it in stride with a simple nod of her head, because he mimicked her pronunciation of her name perfectly, and there was no use in lingering on it. The name given to her by the Organization was simply that, a name, nothing particularly important to her or otherwise.
Really she was glad that he decided not to pry any further into where she came from, and for a moment she considered that idea that he never intended to pry to begin with anyways. That was likely, though anything and everything was technically a possibility, though that was not necessarily important to her at the moment. Instead her mind latched onto the small piece of information he gave her—that this was the largest city on the continent. And then her mind spiraled unhelpfully and she couldn’t help but wonder how large the continent itself was, but those weren’t really questions that she could actually ask—not without being deemed very suspicious.
The offer to show her one place or another was a tempting one, definitely tempting, enough so that she actually considered taking it for even the barest moment, but she knew that she couldn’t actually. As much as Naminé may have wanted to see the city and not get lost in its streets like she was bound to, she couldn’t take further time out of this young man’s day, it just didn’t seem right to do so. Already he had spent so much time speaking to her, only to gain little more out of it than her name.
”I couldn’t bother you anymore than I already have,” was what the blonde finally decided upon saying, and it felt like words she had used time and time before, but they were true nonetheless. And even if she did know where she wanted to go, even if she was inclined to ask him to lead her somewhere, it wasn’t like she would have any idea where to go to begin with—just simply around didn’t seem like an acceptable answer.
Everywhere didn’t seem very acceptable either.
So she pulled a smile onto her face to mirror his also, because his smile appeared to be unwavering and she couldn’t quite resist returning at least a small one, and small it was, though it at least reached her eyes. Despite her wariness upon first interacting with this young man he was rather kind to have at least offered to show her someplace, even if it was some backwards way of apologizing for trying to pry into her business. Not that she had any actual business to be pried into; the existence of various worlds was not necessarily her business, but rather everyone’s.
