He’d never been overly fond of repeating himself.

Cloud began, gaze shifting from the girl in order to redirect mako blues towards the rather barren landscape beyond the modest village they’d decided to take a moment of pause within. Admittedly, he was curious; and perhaps a tad concerned regarding the way he’d discovered her out by the forest, wandering and lonesome.
❝You can tell me how you wound up out there on your own.❞

Making the man repeat himself was likely a bad idea, but she could never be quite sure—after all, he had willingly taken her to a nearby village instead of subjecting her to walking on her own. Young she may appear, which could cause feelings of sympathy, but it took a kind person to offer as much no matter what.
And she wasn’t surprised by his question.
Well it was less of a question, and more of a statement.
”I had gotten lost.”
A vague way of stating the truth, albeit in an incomplete and rather suspicious manner. After all, what child got lost in a forest that was rather far away from any civilization? But it was the most straightforward answer she could give.
Cloud… that sounded familiar. It rang a bell, somewhere in her mind and her memory, something that had been heard before...
“Erm, okay? It’s just…”
