"What are friends for, ey?"
Send me one of the following (bruised and battered version):

”N-Not for this…” While she may not know much about friendship in general, she knew for a fact that friends weren’t supposed to do things like this. Or not really, anyways, and if they truly did when it would only be in life or death situations and while she supposed that it could be considered one, her mind would not calm down or quiet long enough for her to look past the small amount of panic that was rising up inside of her.

Not even to acknowledge that he thought of her as a friend.

Monsters were truly an obstacle that were nigh impossible for her to get around if she was not being careful, not being cautious. The attack had come out of practically nowhere and had caught her by surprise, both of them by surprise, and the monster that had come out from the tree line had been large. Hulking and huge with large teeth and scaly skin that seemed to shimmer weakly in the light of the falling sun in the horizon that painted the sky hues of orange and red and purple.

There had been no time to prepare for the attack, to brace themselves against the full brunt of it and avoid getting injured. It had, evidently, had some measure of intelligence as it went after her first, likely because she was perceived as the weakest. And yet, while that gave some sort of an opening to get away or at least to prepare himself Zack had—

The man had flung himself in front of her, barely having enough time to draw his blade as the monster was upon him and the blonde had fallen back with a soft noise of surprise that morphed into one of pain as she made impact with the ground. When full awareness came back to her she found that the monster had been killed and its carcass was left on the ground, lifeless and sluggishly bleeding green looking fluids, the odor that it gave off truly disgusting in every way. Yet she paid no mind to the gory aftermath and instead looked frantically for the man and found him lying not too far away.

Wasted time was spent on her trying to struggle to her feet and she staggered over to the prone man and fell to her knees besides him, eyes going wide and terrified as she noticed the teeth marks in his arm that were bleeding, and that appeared to be enflamed. It was only one bite mark, but judging by the state that Zack was in, the bite was likely poisonous and the thought made her insides twist and then crumble because she did not know how to treat such things, was at a loss of what to do.

”W… why… why would you do that?”

Distress saturated her tone as she looked him in the eyes once more and she was unsure whether to laugh or to cry when he had noted that that was what friends were supposed to do. An admission that she did not believe, could not believe, because friends weren’t really supposed to give their lives for each other—friends helped and aided each other, yes, but a measure of affection and love was needed to sacrifice lives. Then again, Zack had always given off the air of a hero, of someone who would help anyone even a the cost of her own life, and the thought made her try to steel her resolve.

                                    Naminé couldn’t let him die—

                                                      Not there.
