strrive-deactivated20140202 ; Give me a long ass spiel about exactly how long it’ll take Nam and Reeks to get together if Naminé becomes her own person again |

This extends into like—a really intense headcanon okay? So you’re going to have to bear with me through this entire thing if you want to know how long it will take them to get together, to me. Ready? Are you really ready?
In the event that Naminé becomes her own person—not saying that it will happen, it’s a legitimate if situation in my head—a lot of things would probably be going on. The entire battle wouldn’t be over, only a part of it conquered, and after brief explanations the action would start again. Just with Nobodies and a Replica in tow. (Nam, Roxas, and Xion by the by.)
And when everything is finally, finally, finally over—at least for that moment because of course more stuff is going to happen to everyone—there will be celebration and happiness. For the purpose of this particular headcanon, maybe Sora and Kairi will get together, maybe not, whatever happens happens. The celebration would stretch on and everyone would be happy to be whole and separate again and everything finally would have fallen into place.
Maybe Riku drops some hints to Naminé, maybe not. Maybe he flat out tells her that he might have some feelings for her, but probably not because he’s Riku and I can’t imagine him doing that in that moment. But somehow, some way, she has some sort of knowledge that he at least as the capacity to like her.
But.

Everyone and their mother knows that Naminé is an anomaly for a Nobody. Odd, not quite normal, not with her memory manipulation abilities, the ones that drew the Organization to desire to claim her and use her powers for their own good. But despite the need to have their abilities in their hands, no one has ever understood her powers whatsoever, only that she can only directly effect Sora’s (and by extension Roxas’) memories and those of a replica who she implanted with memories, and that it can effect others in return if they have the right connections.
Even Naminé herself does not fully understand her powers and the capabilities of them, but what she does she has never bothered to tell anyone else. Partly because no one has ever bothered to ask, and partly because she does not want anyone else to have any understanding of her powers at all. This is what she does understand, though:
“Feel” is relied upon for her abilities. Not physical feeling, but mental feeling, meaning that she reaches out and feels for memories in the process of finding them, and generally she relates her abilities with hands even though she doesn’t actually use her hands. As an extension of this, not exactly coincidentally, her abilities are amplified if she’s in direct physical contact with the subject.
Drawing is a practice that she took up in an attempt to help her book keep memories and keep them in line, because it’s easier for her that way. There is no other effects that drawing has on her abilities, other than aiding her in a physical sense.
It is no lie that she cannot effect the memories of anyone without a connection to Sora, that is the limitation of her abilities. This is likely because she was created from his body, though from Kairi’s heart, and because memories are stored within the heart of a person she has the ability to reach out and feel, experience, and change his memories however she wants.
There is no kind of distance range to her abilities. As far as she knows Sora or Roxas or a replica could be worlds away and she could still use her abilities on them, even though she has never bothered to try.
While Naminé’s abilities can be very powerful, if something interrupts them or something deviates from the path that she starts down on in the altering of them, then there is no way for her to go back and undo things and she can hit walls very easily. Such as when Xion’s creation made it impossible for her to finish fixing Sora’s memories or even move very far in her progress of them–it’s extremely easy to mess things up for her.
The ability to change the appearance of something lies in the manipulation of objects around her and the way people view them according to memories. If it is something of sentimental value to someone she has to alter the memory in which they were given it, and it causes a chain of changes that forces the person to see it as what they think it is, though it is not. This also means that when a person who was not there for the receiving of the object views it, they also see the altered object.
When she exercises her abilities to view memories (as manipulation and viewing are completely separate) she can see the memories playing in her head as if they were a movie for explicitly herself to view. In that moment when she is seeing those memories they are, in some ways, hers as they cycle through her head, but because of the limitations of a normal human brain she cannot keep all of them. So in manipulation she chooses a few, those that seem most important, and store them away inside of herself and through changing those they can change the others in return.
Because viewing memories is not the same as changing them there is the potential that she can peer into anyone’s memories if she tried hard enough, but she has never tried this. Probably never will actually attempt this, because to look into someone’s memories is to look into their heart, and is an extreme bypassing of their privacy and she’s not comfortable with that idea.
What Larxene had described as her breaking Repliku’s heart was actually rather accurate, but not quite. Memories are connected directly to the heart and she can reach out and touch them, and can shatter them apart which can make the heart more vulnerable and potentially kill a person, or at the very least leave them a shell of what they once were. If she’s practicing more caution however, she can simply break a piece of a person’s memories and hurt them. It’s unknown if she can “break” a person’s heart who isn’t Sora or a replica.
In the event that she becomes her own person it’s not known if she will retain her abilities, and perhaps they will become stronger, or if she’ll lose them entirely.

[ this is my unamused face okay, but fine! … i’ll do half ]
★ - Do they prefer daytime or nighttime and why?
[ Daytime. For one thing, it’s easier to see in daytime, which makes it infinitely easier to travel and experience things. Nighttime, while she can find it peaceful and soothing if she can see the stars in the sky, reminds her too much of darkness when she’s in a world where they cannot see the stars, which you usually cannot in Twilight Town. ]
☁ - If they’re caught out in the rain how do they react?
[ Like normal? I mean, if she’s just wearing her white dress she’ll use her bag as a temporary umbrella and run to find the nearest form of shelter from the rain. It’s not like it’ll effect her negatively one way or another, except getting her wet, and she doesn’t see a reason to over react to it. ]
✓ - How do they react to praise?
[ Not particularly well. Mostly she get flustered and stumbles over her words a little bit and insists that she doesn’t deserve any sort of praise whatsoever, and then tries to give the person who gave her praise some compliments in return. Over all she’s pretty shy about it.
❄ - Favorite season and why?
[ Autumn. In general she likes the vibrant colors that can result from it if she’s in the right world, what with leaves changing colors. Also she enjoys the fact that it’s not longer oppressive summer heat nor chilly winter winds, just a nice place in between. Which would mean that she would also like spring, but she has a preference for autumn because of the way that nature seems to alter itself to prepare for winter. ]
☺ - Do they prefer sour or sweet treats?
[ Sweet treats. Plain and simple, they’re her guilty pleasure. ]
♫ - What kind of music do they enjoy?
[ Soft music. Instrumental pieces that can last for thirty minutes, sometimes some music with vocals thrown in. I wouldn’t quite say that she likes classical music (though she does) but she likes… mellow things. In most verses it helps her focus on her art. ]
❤ - Do they have a love interest?
[ Not as far as I’m concerned, no. Of course if someone wants to ship with her and has told me I’ve probably just forgotten so feel free to remind me—or tell me if you haven’t. ]
☼ - Something that/Someone who makes them happy.
[ I’d say that art makes her happy, but that just seems too easy, doesn’t it? Something that generally can bring a small smile to her face is an eccentric (good eccentric) personality. If someone has wild ideas and dreams for the future and wants to tell them to her, then she’ll be more than happy to listen to them. Which it part of the reason why she also likes children, as they tend to have the craziest, most wonderful dreams.
♔ - Do they value loyalty?
[ Yes. Loyalty is extremely important to her, if you are absolutely loyal—to something, to anyone, to a certain cause—even if she does not agree, then she will respect you in spite of any differences that may be between you. ]

☂ For something my muse wants to protect
[ The memories of others. Her ability to reach out and touch and alter memories–at least memories of Sora, and also the memories of Roxas and any replica–has made her desire greatly to make sure that the memories of others would not be touched and altered. To change or to lose a memory, she knows, is a painful thing to have happen, and she hates the idea of someone losing something so important and dear to them. ]
♞ For something that my muse wants to do.
[ Find more art. This girl has more than just an artistic bone in her body–she loves art as a whole. She wants to find out more about it, to see different art that may or may not span the worlds, to see things and take them in and try to replicate them for practice. ]
♨ For my muse's reaction to seeing yours standing on their doorstep soaking wet in the rain.

There was a man at her door… a man with bright hair who was soaking wet and was simply standing on the porch as the rain fell down hard, dripping through the holes in the overhang. Standing at the front door she could hear drops of water slipping through the ceiling and knew that the only room in the entire mansion that was sure to be dry was her own room.
There was no way to know where this man had come from, why he was there. Never before had she seen him around Twilight Town, and he had to be from elsewhere. Perhaps another place on the world, or from another world itself, but those questions could wait for later—as could a name. First thing was first… the blonde opened her door wider and stepped aside.
”Come in, you should dry off.”

♞ For something that my muse wants to do.
[ Learn more. Almost more than anything else in the world she wants to be able to explore and experience more things for herself, because while she has seen a lot, it’s never nearly enough for her. She wants to be able to absorb all knowledge that she possibly can, to see knew places and experience new things, and to just live. Not that she would ever, ever admit any of this, she could never bear to, because she believes that she won’t get the chance. ]
♟ For something my muse admires.
[ Nature. The way that nature can bend and change and alter its form and perhaps lose its way but always end up the way that it was always meant to be. She enjoys watching forests and the ways that life moves all around her when she gets the chance to, and quite frankly she could probably sit and try to draw a forest scape for days. ]
osaelligr ; ☁ ☂ ♨ |
☁ For something that make my muse sad.
[ Memories. Memories have a tendency to make her sad, because they remind her that her entire existence was made on the basis of memories and her abilities with them and little else–and also that she has no true past memories of her own, because she was never meant to be her own person. ]
☂ For something my muse wants to protect
[ The future of Sora and Kairi and Riku. And, through those three, many other people–but primarily those three, mostly because it was them that she effected the most through her actions. More than anything she wants to ensure that their lives continue on as they are meant to, even though all three of them lost a year of their lives. Sora through sleep, Kairi through not remembering Sora, and Riku through his work to make sure that Sora woke up once more. Naminé wants them to never miss anymore of their lives. ]
♨ For my muse's reaction to seeing yours standing on their doorstep soaking wet in the rain.

Stranger on her doorstep soaking wet from the rain… well, stranger things had happened she was sure. Especially stranger things that had happened to her.
”H-Hello… do you want a blanket? Or a towel? You must be cold.”

As slight as it is, Naminé has an aversion to touch. It’s not so major to the extent that it’s a phobia, but it’s extremely rare for her to be the first to initiate physical contact with others, and she likes to avoid touching people whenever possible. There is no real reason behind her dislike of touch, other than a vague fear that it will result in some form of pain or that the person won’t be able to touch her (i.e. she’ll be nonexistent and transparent).
She likes the feeling of being free, even if it’s a phantom feeling that’s not really there, and if someone holds onto her physically then they have the chance to keep her anchored in that one place and unable to go anywhere. More than anyone else she’s painfully aware of how physically weak she is, meaning that if anyone tried to grab at her it’s unlikely that she’ll be able to get away.
However, she will accept touch from people that she trusts, and she will also touch people she trusts in return. Honestly, if she voluntarily touches you and doesn’t shy away from you and you two aren’t in a life or death situation, she probably trusts you. Otherwise, she will (whether consciously or not) generally avoid people touching her.

Lust: a headcanon about your character's romantic and/or sexual life
Well to be fair, her romantic/sexual life doesn’t really exist in any verse. Sex and love isn’t something that’s ever on the forefront of Naminé’s mind, simply because it doesn’t occur to her. So she’s a little oblivious to these kinds of things, in other words. If she has romantic feelings for someone, she honestly wouldn’t know how to handle them, especially if they’re not particularly strong feelings that could be defined as love.
Awkward and a little weird about most things to do with intimate relationships, mostly because she doesn’t understand them, romance and sexual relations would be kind of.. odd with Naminé. In the event that she did, somehow, become romantically interested in someone, she probably wouldn’t do anything about it—she wouldn’t know how.
That and, she wouldn’t really care to ruin a friendship that is doubtlessly between them, as she would never fall for someone who was not close to her.
Sloth: a headcanon about something your character hates to do or simply hates in general
On a whole, she really, really hates when people try to grab at her sketchbook or ruin the order of things that she has placed carefully. People are allowed to touch things in her room, but they are generally not allowed to move much, and she’s also not the biggest fan of when people criticize her doodles. Mostly because they’re just that, doodles of memories that she was simply trying to get down to keep them in order.
Pride: a headcanon about something your character is a bit cocky about
At one point she was rather cocky about her knowledge of Nobodies that she knew others did not fully comprehend. She has gotten better about acknowledging the fact that she does know more than others, courtesy of DiZ, but there is still a part of her that finds herself superior because of that. It lifts her above the levels that a majority of the Organization are at, and she cannot help but feel a little vanity over that.
Gluttony: a headcanon about food or obsessions
Despite being unable to cook well at all and not eating all that much on a whole, Naminé actually quite likes food. She particularly has a soft spot for simple and sweet things that don’t overwhelm her taste buds and seem to melt on her tongue when made just right. In other words, she has a quiet love for pastries, that she doesn’t really tell anyone about because it seems like frivolous information.
Wrath: a headcanon about your character and their anger management
When it comes down to it, it’s rather hard to push Naminé into a kind of anger that forces her to express it. Oftentimes, she is actually rather good at managing her anger and keeping it under a tight lid, because that was what she had to do in Castle Oblivion she she had begun to get angry, instead of scared. On the outside she generally has a rather calm temperament, because what generally comes before anger, for her, is fright, and she has a hard time getting over that step.
However, the moment that you bring the idea of harming someone she cares intensely about into the equation she will get angry, and fast. Her anger is a reckless sort of anger that, honestly, puts her (and perhaps others) in more danger than need be.
exnatura-archive ; greed & envy |
Greed: a headcanon about something your character hordes or collects
As predictable as it may be, Naminé enjoys collecting little trinkets that she finds when she wanders from world to world. It’s a rather random collection, of flowers she thinks don’t exist anywhere else, sea shells and shiny pebbles and little things that are easy to pick up and take with her. She likes lining them up on the table in her white room, because there’s no one there to tell her no or to say that she should put them away. They’re her little things, and even though most of them are technically worthless, they’re precious to her.
Envy: a headcanon about your character's secret desires and jealousies
Never, ever would it occur to her to admit what she is truly and sincerely jealous of, but a lot of the time Naminé finds herself envious of children. Mostly because children are wide eyed and innocent, they seemingly had all the time in the world, they had time to play and run around with laughter etched into their face, their eyes, bright voices filtering through the air. Children had the chance to have a childhood, something that she was unfamiliar with.
To another end, if she really thought abut it, Naminé would perhaps say that she’s also jealous of children because many of them have parents they can run to, or a family to return to, or because they had a type of freedom. An open mindedness to say what they wanted when they wanted, that seemed to go away as they grew older. A fearlessness about them that allowed them to climb up high and not feel afraid until they reached the top, and always, always they would have someone to aid them if they got stuck.
