Talking flowers could be horribly rude sometimes and also terribly distracting when she wasn’t exercising some measure of caution in Wonderland. And really, one should always proceed carefully when in Wonderland. So in the end she supposed that it was her fault for getting lost within the overgrown trees and ending up walking through tea cups and hollow forms that could be buildings.
Yes, she was completely and absolutely lost.
Was that truly a surprise?
Brushing her bangs out of her eyes she peered up at the sky, which was a peculiar shade between pink and orange and purple. Maybe even a hint of red. Pretty but–even the sky was distracting!
Oh, maybe she should just ask the flowers where she should be headed.
Comments: Hi there sweetie pie I quite love you a lot? Like we don’t talk a ton or anything, but when we do talk it’s pretty awesome over all in my opinion, because our conversations are hilarious. Plus you’re a really awesome writer in general and I love interacting with you and your Alice, who is pretty spectacular all around, and I honestly find myself honored to be able to be your friend. And we should definitely talk more because it’s a shame that we don’t but now I’m getting rather off topic but honestly I love your writing and the character you’ve built up for Alice, which pretty much means that if anyone isn’t following this darling they should definitely get on that as soon as possible.
{(♕)} Her body flinched involuntarily, watching the other push another piece, though it hadn’t moved very much. Guessing and hoping was not a good strategy for something like this. This was going to require more than simply studying it. This required more thought than she believed was unnecessary, as unnecessary as it was to tear down a wall that is.
This place seemed to be the go to place for ridiculousness wasn’t it?
She had her fair share of dealing with patterns, seeing as they were something she was constantly looking for. Patterns made things easier, making things easier to comprehend in her mind. Being unable to pull out something recognizable made her feel rather uncomfortable. It seems they’d be stuck a little while longer after all.
“It seems we’ll have to plan out next moves carefully…”
Voice so quiet, she wondered if the other had heard her. The female moved to stand next to her new companion, observing the flowers that rested on top of the table. {Had the always been there?} Finding them more interesting than anything at the moment, she lifted one out of the vase. She brought it close to her nose and sniffed, noting how it smelled more like fruit than a flower.
“What kind of flowers are these, I wonder?”
Alice held it out to the other, an urge to take a whiff of it herself. It really was something to sniff yourself.
“I can’t really see anything that stands out on the wall, besides the cracks. Would it be smarter to do the smaller pieces first? Since they’d only open up a little bit of space at a single time?”
If only it seemed that easy, she couldn’t help but doubt that idea of hers actually working.
Last she had checked the flowers that were on the table had not been there at all and she blinked at them in surprise, before allowing herself to take a sniff as well. They were certainly fruitier than they were flowery and she squinted at the flower held out at her until it was put back into the vase and she turned her attention away from the flowers, trying to push the thoughts out of her mind. Wonderland was a strange place—suddenly appearing flowers were not truly so odd in the long run.
The smell lingered in the air though.
Turning back to the wall she nodded at the blonde’s suggestion to remove the smaller pieces first. The bigger ones were the support for the entire structure, doubtlessly, and removing them first would be reckless and would surely end in their demise. Or at least getting very hurt, and both did not sound particularly preferable at the time, so they would just have to work slowly.
”Let remove the smaller pieces first,” she confirmed verbally, glancing over at her companion for only a moment before striding back towards the wall, though her steps were somewhat staggered as she eyed it critically. Only the very tips of her fingers traced the wall, following one of the cracks down until she found a piece small enough that it appeared removing it would not be immediately threatening. The piece of the wall seemed to lean more into the room than out, so the squeezed it between her thumb and forefinger, drawing out the piece.
Depositing it on the floor quietly besides her, she sought out another small piece of the wall that could be removed with relative ease, finding it after a few moments and this time pushing it out of the bigger over all piece. Air from outside of the room felt frigid against her finger and she jerked it back, tilting her head to the side—before glancing back at the flowers. Were they multiplying somehow?
Anonymously send me a url, and I'll tell you what I think of them.
[ Sweetie! Hi darling, I love you <3 Now that that’s out of the way I can talk about you in a more coherent fashion… well, probably. I’m not a very eloquent person to begin with, but I’ll try my best, alright? Because you definitely deserve lots of praise.
We haven’t spoken a lot, which should change because I do have your Skype now, but it’s incredibly easy to talk to you. Like, amazingly so–it’s really hard for me to feel comfortable about talking to someone and it’s wonderfully easy to talk to you out of character. Plus you also are an amazing writer and an awesome Alice who I love seeing on my dash and interacting with a lot, and it’s been a joy following you for however long it’s been–probably a month. I keep saying a month because it’s when I brought Naminé back, but y'know, that’s off topic. You just have such an interesting voice for Alice and it’s fun seeing her run around on my dash and I do hope that she and Naminé can become friends at some point, because I think that would be adorable.
In summary, I think that you’re great, and I hope that we become good friends. :3 ]
absolute dork. lovely person. so sweet it hurts. cute to boot. writes wonderfully and is an ah-mazing namine. if you deny any of these things i will boop you on the head i s2g don't test me i will fail.
What is your honest opinion of the mun?
[ yoU YOU SHUSH YOU SILLY HEAD I WILL BOOP YOU ON THE HEAD IN RETALIATION–or kiss you and no one wants me to do that. u.u But ahhh sdkfjdskfjs no shut up I deny all of it but accept all of it at the same time because it’s rude to deny compliments entirely but believe me, I will be showering you in baked goods for a long time to come because you’re a dork and entirely sweet and adorable and you’re an amazing writer and great Alice, okay? Yes? Awesome. uwu ]
{(♕)} Their current predicament was only getting more strange, not that they could help it in anyway. This was foreign territory, and she was already treading lightly, it felt too out of place and it was sort of making her head hurt {it reminded her of her studies}. Bringing herself up to a standing position, after sharing a look with her new partner, she brought herself closer to wall once more, seeing as it had ceased it’s ruckus {honestly, why did the wall had to be so loud?}.
She observed the wall with a critical eye, still unable to see how this would be able to help them. It had stopped being as bizarre as it could’ve been, which could count as development. It was only until the other spoke up did she realize just how complicated this trip had gotten.
Tear down the wall? Her first thought was to react negatively to the plan, seeing as it was simply absurd, in and out of context. But judging the circumstances, they would have to do it, seeing as there wasn’t really any other option.
Besides, she’s definitely had worse ideas, though the ending result wasn’t exactly the worst of things.
Turning towards the other, she nodded in agreement, though still rather skeptical of the idea.
“If you really believe so, I suppose we have to.”
There was a pause, followed by a nervous giggle as a slim finger poked gently at the cracked pieces, but didn’t make an effort to actually remove it.
“Do you think there’s a specific pattern or system to follow to remove them? I’m not sure about you, but I’m not so fond of the idea of being crushed.”
Tearing down the wall, admittedly, was not her best idea in the world but it was all that she could think to do at the moment. None of the doors would work—and all of them were still completely solid which was incredibly odd but there was no time to question that—and unlocking the smaller door clearly triggered something. Everything in Wonderland had a tendency to have some sort of meaning, whether it be positive or negative.
Whether or not they had to remove pieces of the wall in a certain order was definitely a good idea though, considering that the Nobody wasn’t completely keen on the idea of getting crushed herself. Surveying the walls with a critical eye she tried to find some sort of a pattern in the cracks that lined them but she couldn’t find any sort of pattern that could possibly give a thing away. How troublesome.
”I don’t think that there’s any pattern to this…” though it would certainly be easier to approach this if there were. Striding forwards again she pressed the tip of her finger against a slab of wall for just a moment before pulling it away, a small sense of panic inflating in her chest when she saw that the barest pressure made it move. Not enough to cause a great deal of concern, but it still moved.
Biting down on her bottom lip she turned back to the small table that was in the center of the room and drifted back towards it, but there was nothing on it except for a small vase of flowers. Red flowers which were in full bloom as if trying to mock them for being stuck in that room so suddenly.
”Going from top to bottom would be safest but—“ well that wasn’t very possible, since the top of the wall and the ceiling itself was far too high above them. It didn’t seem like there was any easy way out from what the blonde could tell and she turned to her companion, eyebrows furrowed in thought.
Something in the wall had to have triggered its reaction.
{(♕)} With a crinkled nose and pursed lips, she watched her quietly. It still didn’t sit well with her, how such a tiny door can not only be built, but placed in the wall like it belonged there {don’t be rude it probably does}!
Interestingly enough, her concerns seemed to be directed more at the size of a door rather than being trapped in a room.
But that though ran it’s course, the sound of a click stopping it almost instantaneously. So unlocked the door became!
A relieved smile spread across her face at that sound, though unsure as to why, since they were still technically trapped. But other noises soon followed behind it.
Loud and strange and mechanical noises.
Only then did she realize it was coming from right in front of her. From the wall.
”What’s happening?”
She watched in awe as the cracks decorated the wall like vines, in a seemingly random pattern, no rhyme or reason behind it. What exactly had they ended up triggering? Was this their way of getting out?
Feeling unsure about the current situation, she pushed herself away from the wall, in obscene fear that it would collapse on the both of them.
“…..This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, right?
”—I’m not sure.” A useless statement at best, though it really didn’t help their situation at all. Neither of them were aware of what was happening around them except for the fact that cracks were lining the walls every which way. For a moment Naminé wondered if what they had done was alright, though there hadn’t appeared to be any other way out of that small room either way…
When it appeared that the cracks had stopped spreading like wildfire across a dry field the blonde blinked a few times before looking over at her companion. Perhaps this was their way out, roundabout as it may have been, though admittedly Wonderland had a tendency to be interesting in its own little way. Getting trapped in there was likely no more than a trick that the world had played on them, though there was no way to be sure.
Stepping forwards cautiously the Nobody allowed her fingers to trail along the wall gently, barely touching it for fear that it would collapse inwards. ”I don’t believe that this is a bad thing…” something bizarre and mildly terrifying indeed, but not necessarily bad. There did not appear to be any other way out and trying the other doors—all of which were sill whole and solid—could make the wall collapse. And crush them.
So they only had a few choices, and while it appeared that they had time to mull over them the idea of staying in that small room any longer was not very appealing. And anyways, the only somewhat realistic option was to push at the wall anyways, and hope that it fell in the direction that would not end in their potential deaths or at least getting seriously harmed.
”Tearing down the wall is out way out of here, I think.”
Poking carefully at a small piece of wall that was between two much larger slabs she poked her finger through, unsurprised when it fell out and she leaned down to peer out of the small opening that had been made. Definitely the outside there, and not another trick, which meant that tearing down the wall was the best way to go, and she stepped aside and turned back to the young woman, gauging her reaction.
{(♕)} Ceasing her searching, she scooted over to where the other was, frowning at the discovery. It was true, it was indeed a very tiny doorway. Could quite possibly be helpful sure—
With that thought rolling, she maneuvered her way back to the table. Steadying her hand, she scooped the amazingly small key into her cupped palm, taking extra care with it as she made her way back to the door and dropped down into her previous position.
“Well it’ll fit that’s for sure.”
Continuing to hold the key gingerly she considered a rather important note for this situation. As she spoke, she {gently} shoved her hands at the other girl, a silent request to do the unlocking herself.
”I’m pretty sure my hand can’t even fit through there! I don’t think there’s anyway for us to fit through there! Do you have any ideas as to what we can do? I’m afraid my idea well has run dry for the time being…”
Being handed the key made her blink in confusion a few times and she was unsure of accepting it before finally holding out her hand and letting it fall into her palm. As careful as possible she tried to cup it and held it close to her person, a frown appearing on her features as she tried to think of a way for them to sort out this mess neatly.
Such a tiny door wouldn’t allow either of them to pass through and even if she did manage to unlock it, they would still be stuck in there—potentially forever. With a soft sigh she carefully slid the key up to her fingers and grasped it gently, trying not to tremble as she lowered herself flat to the ground and tried to unlock it.
”We can figure that out after this door is unlocked.“
The key slid into the lock and she let go of it, instead using her forefinger to press against it and twisted her finger to unlock it. Really the key was far too small to hold between her fingers and twist it at the same time, and she was relieved when she heard a click—
And then jerked back as she heard gears turning and weights falling and inched back as she watched colossal cracks appear all around the doors and them upwards to the ceiling of the room that they were trapped in. Everything shook and trembled and she stared, eyebrows raising, at the wall.
